Please contact your local representative. true Unit of measure is "piece". Acetate (or acetic acid) is converted to acetyl-CoA using ATP and CoA in presence of acetate kinase (AK) and phosphotransacetylase (PTA). Acetyl-CoA reacts with oxaloacetate in presence of citrate synthase (CS) to citrate. The required oxaloacetate is produced by oxidation of L-malate with NAD+ in presence of L-malate dehydrogenase (MDH), but only if the oxaloacetate is immediately consumed by acetyl-CoA, otherwise the reverse reaction of oxaloacetate to L-malate would be the dominant direction. The NADH generated in the oxaloacetate production is measured by increase in absorbance at 340 nm, and this relates to the formation of Acetyl-CoA which directly depends on the acetate concentration of the sample. en This product is intended for quantitative determination of acetate in aqueous solutions using the Cedex Bio Analyzer. en Method: Enzymatic photometric assay using phosphorylation by acetate kinase.
